ICT as Communicative tool
With the change in time,
the medium of communication has also changed. It had vastly improved from delivering
letters on foot taking 2-3 days to now delivering information in matter of
seconds. It is now much easier and comfortable. Communicative tools refer to
any tools that enable effective communication between teachers and students, or
among students themselves. These tools enhance interaction between teachers and
students; encourage collaboration and facilitating immediate feedbacks.
Communicative tools
such as social media, emails and discussion groups have significantly
influenced how students learn and engage with peers. Group assignments which
earlier required face to face interaction now no longer requires student to
interact in person but can be done through online platforms. One of the communicative
tools I used in the process of learning is telegram. Telegram made it easier
for everyone to communicate, share ideas, knowledge and information. One of its
strongest points is the ability to create channels and groups, allowing users
to send messages to large audiences or foster real-time discussions. Moreover,
unlike many other messaging apps, telegram supports file sharing up to 2 GB, making
it easy to send videos, pdf and presentations without compression.
Telegram is also
available on multiple platforms-Android, iOS, desktop ensuring that users stay
connected across devices. What makes telegram even more appealing is its
privacy and security. With end-to-end encryption in secret chats and a commitment
to user privacy, telegram offers safe space for private communication. Overall in
teaching and learning, telegram has become one of the most used communicative
tool. It not only enhances interaction between teachers and students, or among
students themselves, but also enhances parents to interact and know what their
children is learning and developing.
Our class telegram
groups serves as a medium for us to share information, ideas, knowledge and
discuss assignments easily. It also makes it easier for tutors to share resources
and making it accessible for all the students. Outside academic view, it helps
us to keep in contact with our family and friends serving its role as one of
the most effective communicative tool.
As shown in the picture, telegram serves as one of the most effective communicative where we can share information, resources and updates. Tutors can easily inform students when adjusting classes, provide resources for students to explore and collect assignments. For students, they can easily discuss assignments without having to meet in person, saving time and easier to communicate through telegram.
